Daniel (“Dan”) T. Rose was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Dan passed away on August 22, 2022, in Heber, UT at the age of 67. Dan was born on May 19, 1955, in Rochester, IN to Thomas L. Rose and Nancy A. Whittenberger. He married Linda M. Hutchens on August 3, 1985. Together they had two children, Thomas and Sarah.
Dan was an accomplished and respected businessman, coach, and mentor; however, family always came first. Everyone who came into his home was treated as family. He enjoyed coaching and guiding all his “children” as they grew up and didn’t stray from doing the same with his grandchildren’s activities. Dan viewed life as an opportunity and adventure. Traveling and being outdoors is how he most enjoyed his time with his family. From boating, camping, hiking, skiing, fishing and mountain rides, Dan always kept a smile on his face and would routinely say “I am so darn good, I can hardly stand it!”. In both family and business, Dan was a mentor to everyone he interacted with. He was always supportive and encouraging and would drop everything to help you through any problem or accomplish any goal you set. Dan was smart, kind, selfless and always there for anyone who needed him, even if it meant traveling across the country in a moment’s notice. Dan had an infectious energy, a contagious smile and lived every day as if there was something to celebrate. Cheers to a great man who lived a great life!
Dan is survived by his wife Linda; son Thomas and his wife Alicia; daughter Sarah and her husband Michael; six grandchildren (Daniel, Arthur, Charlotte, Louis, Caroline, Jack); parents Tom and Nancy; siblings Deanne [Jeff] Pierson, Julie [Steve] Burger, and Jeff Rose. He is further survived by mother-in-law Alice Hutchens and siblings Julie [Mike] Dahle, Donna [Sam] Miller, and Karla [Brad] Lieders. He is preceded in death by Arthur M Hutchens (father-in-law).
A private service will be held on Friday, August 26th and will be followed by a celebration of life at the Blue Boar Inn in Midway, UT from 4pm-7pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his grandsons’ hockey program (Foothill Flyers Hockey Association), his grandchildren’s school (Spondeo Montessori Preschool in Gilbert, AZ), and his local pickleball club (Heber Valley Pickleball Club).
