Marion, Utah - Dallas Atkinson, 76, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother passed peacefully on December 10, 2015 at home with his loving wife by his side.
He was born December 28, 1938 in Heber City to Glen Wilby and Doris Moon Atkinson. Dallas married the love of his life Floydene Hoyt on June 26, 1964 in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they raised three sons, Hoyt, Cornell, and Nashawn. He loved his wife, boys, and grandkids. They were the light of his life.
At an early age he selflessly provided for his mother and siblings after his father’s sudden passing. He was known for his hard work ethic in various jobs to provide for his family. He retired from the South Summit School District after 22 years of service. He was always there to offer advice and encouragement to his son’s and grandchildren.
He enjoyed fishing with his Dad, riding horses, welding, and in later years he enjoyed spending time with his family on the farm. He referred to the cows as his girls and always made sure they were well taken care of. His laughter, kindness, caring, love, devotion, and generosity will remain in our hearts forever. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He taught us all to be happy and optimistic while enduring trials and afflictions.
The family would like to thank Audrey for her kindness and loving care.
Preceded in death by his father (Glen) and mother (Doris). He is survived by his wife, Floydene, of Marion; sons: Hoyt (Toni) of Marion; Cornell (Sally) of Kanosh; Nashawn (Melissa) of Marion; 8 grandchildren; Kylie (Garrett Crystal), Zachary, Kaden, Jace, Bodee, Joseph, Weston, and Brooke; Brother Austin (Brenda) and sister Kathy.
