Dale Alder McAllister, 98, passed away on November 11, 2023. Dale was born September 16, 1925, in Provo, Utah to John Wells McAllister and Mary Myrl Alder. His family moved to California when he was three.
Dale loved music. He played the harmonica and ukelele for a radio contest when he was thirteen. He played the bass trombone in Santa Barbara’s High School band and orchestra. His family moved to Manti, Utah when he was in twelfth grade.
He served in the Eastern States Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Dale served in many different callings-he directed many ward choirs through the years and was usually gospel doctrine teacher in Sunday School.
Dale married Faye Craig. They had five wonderful children: Craig, Mike, Cindy, Jeffrey and Kevin. They raised their family in Arizona and Utah. They later divorced.
Dale loved playing with his children and creating and building fun things for them to play with. He was very mechanically minded and could fix most any machine-including all of his vehicles.
He attended Brigham Young University and was a Twirler of the Baton and a Drum Major in the Marching Band. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Music and a Master’s degree in Bible and Modern Scripture. Dale developed the Old Testament Chronological Chart for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Seminary. He wrote his thesis on the Analysis of the Old Testament Chronology in the Light of Modern Scripture and Scientific Research.
Dale taught music for eight years. He taught seminary for twenty-one years and Institute for two years.
Dale sang in the Tabernacle Choir. He wrote a thirty-minute Christmas Cantata called “Christmas Means Jesus” for ward choirs with three original songs and seven arrangements of Christmas Hymns with scripture narration. Dale composed and arranged musical numbers, hymns and carols. He conducted the Wallsburg Ward Choir and conducted the Midway Stake Choir for the dedication of the new Stake building.
He was an amateur photographer and loved shooting the camera-and has over 11,000 slides.
Dale met and married Laura Young Cieslak in the Provo Temple. He gained a large Bonus Family. Dale and Laura loved to watch football and travel together. They visited numerous places including Niagara Falls, church history sites, Bahamas, Hawaii, multiple national parks-Bryce Canyon being one of his favorites. They have been married for thirty-four years.
He is survived by his loving wife Laura. His children Craig (AnnaRae), Mike (Debby) and Cindy (Joel) Tuaileva. Daughters-in-law Caroline McAllister and Cheryl Hansen. 31 Grandchildren, 106 Great-Grandchildren, and 1 Great-Great Grandchild. Bonus Children: Tammi (Ralph), Julie (Jim), Michal (Richard), Caroline (Morgan), Nathan (Brandi), Aaron (Suzanne), Rachel (Chad), Benjamin (Cheryl). 35 Bonus Grandchildren and 37 Bonus Great-Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sons Jeffrey McAllister and Kevin McAllister. Great-Granddaughter Pearl McAllister. His parents and his brothers Wells McAllister and Earl McAllister. His sisters Lucile Weenig and Elaine Moody.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023, from 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM with funeral services to follow at 11:00 AM at the Wallsburg Ward, 494 West Main Canyon Road, Wallsburg, Utah.
Interment will be in the Wallsburg Cemetery.
