Connie Laie (Garfield) Kendall Hadley, age 85, passed away March 6, 2026, in Heber City, UT.

Born March 8, 1940 in Salt Lake City, UT, to Herman and Mabel (Taylor) Garfield, their youngest child. She was raised in Magna, UT, and a graduate of Cyprus High School Class of 1958. Connie began courting Gordon Paul Kendall, having been lined up by his sister. Upon return from his service in the Army, they were married in the Salt Lake Temple on August 24, 1960. They raised five children at their home in Magna, UT. Gordon passed away in their 27th year of marriage.

By association through their employment at Consolidated Freightways, Connie met Lamar Frank Hadley, who had three children from his former marriage. They began a courtship which culminated with a marriage ceremony on December 16, 1989 in Magna, UT. In their 26th year of marriage, Lamar passed away. Connie often said, "I grew up with Gordon, and grew old with Lamar."

She had a gift for writing, played and taught the piano and organ, was proficient in organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities at work, at home and in other capacities. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with an unwavering testimony of God and his son Jesus Christ. She enjoyed doing Temple work, genealogy, and faithfully served in multiple church callings throughout her life.

Connie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandma. She liked wearing her T-shirt that said on it, GRANDMA LIFE IS THE BEST LIFE! She strived to be of service, and enjoyed the opportunities to do so. She loved traveling, education, a clean kitchen, music, praying, her homemade canned chili sauce, BYU, and especially spending time with family and friends. Her example of perseverance through challenges and tribulation in her life has been admirable.

Connie is preceded in death by her parents, sister, both brothers, husbands, Gordon and Lamar, son, James, daughters, Jackie and Lesa, stepdaughter, Bethany, grandson, Ryan, and great-granddaughter, Sariah. She is survived by her daughter, Laie (Douglas) Preslar, son, Craig Kendall, daughter-in-law, Lizzeth Kendall, stepsons, Steven (Peggy) Hadley and David Hadley, twenty-two grandchildren, and twenty great-grandchildren.

We acknowledge, and extend our sincere appreciation to Rocky Mountain Care staff and hospice team for their kind support and care of Connie.
