Clayton R. Hassell died on December 21, 2024 in Heber City, Utah. He was born in Bluewater, New Mexico on May 31st, 1931.
He was preceded by his parents Annie Lamb Hassell and Maynor Mae Hassell and brothers Lee, Collins and Ray and sisters Ida and Anna. He was also preceded by four of his children: Clayton Ray Hassell Jr., Jennifer Lynn Addington, Sheila Hassell Jewkes and Sharon Perkins.
He worked in the logging industry in Southern Oregon starting as a young man and owned his first logging truck and business when he was 16. He had his own airplane early in his career. Over the years, he formed a business building homes and created a kitchen cabinet company. He raised his family in Southern Oregon, Texas and Utah. He spent the last 8 years in Swiss Oaks in Midway Utah and said the Heber Valley was the most beautiful valley he has ever seen, but always added to that sentence that he hoped the over-building would stop! Most recently, he and his wife have enjoyed living at Spring Gardens in Heber and are so appreciative of the staff and friends they have met there.
Raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, he and his wife served two missions in the Philippines and worked at several temples. He is survived by his wife Judith Kim Hassell.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 27, at Probst Family Funerals, 79 East Main Street, Midway, Utah. A viewing will be held at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service. Interment will follow the service in the Midway City Cemetery.
