Most of all she loved being with family, telling jokes and making people laugh.

Charlene Howard-Puente, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and dedicated member of her community, passed away on June 22, 2026, in Park City, Utah. She was born on September 27, 1968, in Tuba City, Arizona. 

Charlene’s professional contributions included her role as an aide and para at Wasatch High School. In this position, she touched the lives of countless students, offering support and fostering a nurturing environment. Her presence was marked by compassion, reliability, and a profound sense of responsibility toward those in her care.

Charlene loved to sew, crochet, and make jewelry. She would often got to movies and for rides. Most of all she loved being with family, telling jokes and making people laugh. She baked and loved to create different meals. She was very well known for her fried bread.

She is survived by her husband, Esmildo Puente; son, Brayden Puente, his wife Danahy, and their son, Cassiel Puente, who were a constant source of pride and joy in Charlene’s life. Charlene’s surviving family also includes her mother, Chee Marie Colorado Howard; several aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews; and her foster-mother Sharon, foster-sister Julie, and foster-brother Lynn. Each cherished their unique relationship with Charlene and will remember her unwavering support and kindness.

She was very well known for her fried bread.

Charlene was preceded in death by her father, Charlie Kee Howard; brother, Michael Howard; foster-father, Lee Rydalch; as well as James Colorado, James Colorado Jr, and Arriena Colorado. Their memories stood as guiding lights in her life, and their legacies inspired her.

A viewing will take place on June 29, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 1205 West 650 South, Heber City, Utah. The funeral service will follow at the same location, beginning at 12:00 PM. Interment will occur Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at the Howard Burial Ground on Coppermine Road in Cameron, Arizona.

Charlene Howard-Puente’s dedication to her family and her professional endeavors leaves an enduring impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy will continue through her loved ones and those whose lives she touched, remembered for her selflessness, generosity, and warmth.
