Carolyn Lee Rose

Carolyn Lee Pickard Fox Rose, 78, passed away on October 10, 2026 In Heber City, Utah.

She was born on June 30, 1948, in Springfield, IL, to Ruth Ellen Ezzell Pickard and Ulman Luther Pickard. Carolyn spent the majority of her youth in the Kansas City area and graduated from Raytown South High School in 1966. She married Lawrence "Larry" Lee Fox in 1968, and together they welcomed her beloved daughter, Kristin, in 1969. She married Jeffrey Brent Rose on August 13, 1983.

An ambitious trailblazer from the start, Carolyn balanced working full-time and raising her daughter while putting herself through college. During this time, she was a passionate advocate for civil and women's rights and actively protested the Vietnam War. Her dedication to education culminated in 1979 when she earned her Master's degree in the History of Science from the University of Kansas.

Carolyn went on to build an exceptional career in the healthcare industry. Through hard work and determination, she climbed the corporate ladder, running major healthcare companies from San Francisco to New York. One of her proudest professional achievements was becoming CEO of Iasis Health Choice of Arizona, a role she held until her retirement in 2012.

Outside of her career, Carolyn had a profound love for travel, the arts, and the outdoors. Whether attending jazz concerts or Broadway shows, she squeezed joy out of every moment. She adventured through the mountains of Utah, California, And Europe and cherished exploring vibrant cities around the world. Carolyn was also a passionate animal lover who was never without a pet by her side.

Of all her many accomplishments, Carolyn's greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted and enthusiastic mother and grandmother. She cherished the time she spent with her mother, Ruth, during her lifetime, loved traveling with her sister, Virginia, and always looked forward to reminiscing with her best friend, Shannon. She loved Jeff deeply and was happiest simply being with him, whether they were embarking on a new adventure or doing nothing at all. Carolyn brought boundless happiness to everyone who knew her, always greeting the world with a smile or kind word. Her amazing sense of humor, compassion, and caring nature will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her husband, Jeff Rose; Her daughter, Kristin (Kipp) Lassetter; her grandchildren, Caroline Lassetter and Ben Lassetter; her sister, Virginia (Gary) Otteson; her best friend, Shannon Morgan; and her faithful furry companion, Marvin.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth Ellen Ezzell Pickard and Ulman Luther Pickard; as well as her uncles James (Sue) Ezzell ad Douglas (Lois) Ezzell.

Per Carolyn's wishes, there will be no official services. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Carolyn's honor to the Lewy Body Research Foundation.
