The July 14, 1938 edition of The Park Record reported that a beautiful baby girl had been born at the Miners Hospital on July 10, 1938 to Mr. and Mrs. Louis Williams. Louis and Afton named their daughter Carol Ann. Carol Ann Williams (86) passed away peacefully on February 16, 2025 at a Heber City care center in the loving arms of her sister and care giver Linda Leatham and brother Don Williams.
Among her many friends and neighbors, Carol was long known for her dogged determination and wry sense of humor. A talented musician, Carol played a clarinet solo at her graduation ceremony from Park City High School in 1957. An able art student, Carol continued her education at Utah Trade Tech.
Carol loved nature and being out of doors. It was only natural that she be a-long- time Girl Scout and camp counselor at the Utah Girl Scout Council’s Camp Cloud Rim high above Park City. Her early morning, sunrise walks continued well into her 80’s.
A world traveler and antique collector, Carol decorated her home with artifacts, mementos and souvenirs from Europe and Africa. Family visits to nearby national parks, Hawaii, San Francisco and Disneyland were among her most cherished memories.
Though small in stature, Carol was the always the hardest worker on any job she had. Always willing to pitch in and do more than was asked. She loved the people she worked with. As a service worker in the tourist trade and a lunch lady and custodian in the Park City School District, Carol was renown for her loyalty and dependability.
Aunt “Cokey” will be greatly missed by her brother Don and wife Tonya Williams; sister Linda and husband Steven Leatham; nephews Steve Leatham, and Russell, Ross, and Devin Williams and all her many great nieces and nephews; as well has her many friends and neighbors.
Always humble and grateful for all that she had, Carol appreciated and was ever thankful for everything anyone did for her. We can all learn that lesson from her. As per her wishes, a celebration of her life will be held in the Spring.
