Carol Ritchie Coleman
April 22, 1938 — June 6, 2022
Our dear mother, grandma, sister and friend, Carol Ritchie Coleman, passed away somewhat unexpectedly and quickly, Monday, June 6th 2022, in Heber City.
Carol was born, April 22, 1938, in Heber to Verdell and Elva Horner Ritchie. She was raised in Charleston and attended schools in Wasatch County. While attending Utah State University, she met Gary Coleman, who actually grew up in Midway. They were married June 20, 1958 in the Salt Lake Temple.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held callings in all of the organizations. She and Gary also served many senior missions; cherishing those memories and associations. We do not doubt she had a deep love and testimony of Jesus Christ and His restored gospel.
Carol’s most beloved calling was that of mother and grandma! She was also an excellent homemaker in all aspects of the word. Baking for and serving others at Swiss Days was one of her favorites. Other favorites included working at the elementary school library, Shakespeare Book Club, sibling/spouse dinners, family parties and holidays.
Carol is survived by her children Veralynn (Slone) Porter; Colleen (Steve) Bonner; Susan (Shane) Cummings; Clay (Lisa) Coleman; Karen (Tyler) Bingham; Michelle Coleman; and Clint (Tiffany) Coleman; siblings Dee Ritchie, Joan Giles and Lynn Ritchie; 22 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren and growing. What a posterity! She was greeted in heaven by her beloved husband Gary, son Chad, her parents, precious great grandbabies and many loved ones.
The family would like to thank all her conscientious and loving care givers.
Funeral services will be Saturday, June 11th at 11:00 am at the Fort Midway Chapel, 1102 S. Center Street. A viewing will be held on Friday, June 10th from 6-8 pm and 9-10:30 am prior to the service at the same location. Interment will follow at the Charleston Cemetery.
Services were provided by Heber Valley Funeral Home and the Fort Midway Ward.
