Carl Reid Saxey, 80, passed away on September 12, 2018. He was born January 31, 1938 in Provo, Utah to Carl Raile and Mildred Peay Saxey. He grew up in Provo, Utah and graduated from Provo High School. He married Glenda Afton Richards, February 12, 1958 in Orem, Utah in her grandparent’s home. He raised two boys, Gary and Ricky.
He served the LDS Church in many ways especially, in the scouting and youth programs. He worked for Geneva Steel for over 20 years as a sign maker and then went on to work for BYU another 20 plus years also, as a sign maker. He retired from BYU two years ago. He spent many years wood working and making picture clocks. He loved keeping busy and working hard. He enjoyed and taught archery and loved being outdoors camping and hunting. Mostly, he loved spending time with and taking care of the love of his life, Glenda. He is survived by his wife, Glenda Saxey and his son Gary (Bobbi) Saxey. He is also survived by his brother and sisters: JoAnn (Elmo) Syme, Mary (Kirk) Farr, David (Colleen) Saxey, Maurine (Steve) Lindsay and Brother-in-law, Harley Lynn (Cindy) Richards. He is preceded in death by his parents and son, Ricky Saxes.
A graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at the Wallsburg, Utah cemetery. The family wishes to thank the many residents of Wallsburg for their love, friendship and support over the years.
