Carolyn NaDean Roberts Lewis

1932-2026

Carolyn NaDean Roberts Lewis was welcomed into the loving arms of our Savior and her Sweetheart of 69 years on Saturday, October 3, 2026, just two months shy of her 94th birthday. NaDean was born to Clifford & Florence Caroline Wilson Roberts on December 3, 1932, in Ephraim Utah. She was the second oldest of 6 children.

NaDean moved to Tabiona with her family as a young child, where she grew up helping her mom with her younger siblings, and learning to cook and sew which would lead her in her career path. She loved music, dancing and getting dressed up and enjoyed going to the dances in town on hay wagons. She graduated from Tabiona High School in 1951 and went on to attend college at Utah State Agricultural College in Logan Utah. She graduated in 1955 with a Bachelor's degree in Home and Family Living. She then returned to Tabiona to teach Home Economics where she started dating Glen Lunceford Lewis, her brother Cecil's best friend. They married on June 18, 1957, in the Salt Lake Temple. They soon moved to Duchesne and started their family, being blessed with 10 kids; 6 boys and 4 girls. While she raised her children, NaDean taught Elementary school for a few years in Duchesne and then Myton. She was a foster parent, had an in-home daycare and ran the Polar Queen for 10 years. They returned to their home of Tabiona in 1997 to live their later years together. After returning to Tabiona and being in her seventies she went back to teaching high school home economics class for several years. She loved teaching these teens lifelong lessons of cooking and sewing. During this time, she also started an annual Dutch Oven cook-off with her students which continues today. NaDean was an active lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She shared her testimony with everyone she came in contact with through her actions and example. She emulated the love of Christ and had a strong testimony of prayer. During her life, she held many different callings including librarian, primary teacher, home and visiting teacher, and scout leader where she earned her Second Miler award for going the extra mile. A fitting tribute to a woman who truly went the extra mile in everything she did. One of her last callings which was perfect for her was sending cards for the relief society. She loved sending out cards to family, friends and others, whether birthday, anniversary, get well, compassion or just a thinking-of-you cards. She always added her own little message of hope and love.

Mom was a homemaker, she loved cooking, baking and sewing and she loved sharing this with her children and grandchildren. She was a teacher, and business owner who loved music and loved people even more. She was a spiritual giant in a small frame dedicated to the service of our Heavenly Father. Most importantly she was a wife, a mother and a grandmother. She didn’t just raise a family; she built a village, serving as a mother figure to everyone she met. Her legacy she started with our dad, has grown to 138 to include 10 children plus spouses, 42 grandchildren plus spouses, 50 great-grandchildren plus spouses including 3 on the way, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her Sweetheart: Glen Lewis, son & Daughter-in-law: Stuart William & Trudy Lewis, grandchildren: Tyler Joe Curry and KaraLee Lewis, great-grandchildren: Kamree Lynn and KyLynn Macee Fitzgerald, her parents: Clifford & Florence Roberts, and many other family members including her husband's parents, her sister, 3 brothers, 9 sisters-in-law, and 8 brothers-in-law.
