Barbara Lue Ritchie

Barbara Lue Fillmore Ritchie, passed away peacefully on March 3rd, 2023 under compassionate hospice care in Heber City. She was born to Ronald Franklin Fillmore and Neva Mae Wall Fillmore on June 12, 1938 in Midway, Utah. She married Lee Roy Ritchie on September 2, 1955 and was sealed in the Logan temple on August 4th, 1959.

Barbara was a very competitive person and enjoyed sports of all kinds. She was an avid bowler for over 60 years. She was the Midway Elementary Media Coordinator for 11 years, having one of the best libraries in the state. She was part of Roy’s service in the Wasatch National Forest District where she recorded and reported the fire weather conditions for 19 years.

She loved her children and was a big part of their lives. She is survived by her four children Denise Chadwick, Annette Peterson (Chris), Scott Ritchie (Kristen), Karen Rasmussen; six grandchildren, Jeff Peterson, Clint Peterson, Kristen Ritchie, Brett Chadwick, Katie Chadwick, Alex Rasmussen; two great grandsons Dawson and Oliver Chadwick; two sisters Dot Zetko and Phyllis Gray; brother-in-law Don (Liz) Ritchie and sister-in-law Diane (Teryl) Hunsaker. She is preceded in death by the love of her life, Roy, her parents and siblings Betty Durrant, David Fillmore, Vern Fillmore and son-in-law Blake Chadwick.

A short service will be held on Thursday, March 9th at 12:00 pm at the Timpview Meadows Ward, 521 East 500 North. There will be no viewing at Barbara’s request; however, the family will meet with friends and family after the service. Due to the weather, the burial will be done on a later date at the Charleston Cemetery.
