Born July 5, 1953, in Zurich, Switzerland, to Morde and Theresa Lupatkin, Barbara and her brother Bruce spent their early years there before the family moved to Westchester County, New York. Barbara spent her formative years in Eastchester, then headed west to attend Colorado State University, where she received a B.S. She later earned her J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law and went on to a distinguished legal career, eventually establishing her own law practice in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she practiced for more than three decades.
As accomplished as she was professionally, Barbara was a fiercely devoted mother and wife. She was introduced to her husband, Wayne Maw, by her younger sister Linda at a ski lodge in Park City. Their shared love of the outdoors inspired them to settle there and raise their two children, Eric and Joanna “Joey.” Barbara treasured family traditions, especially bringing everyone together for holidays and celebrations, and loved traveling and seeking out new adventures with her family. She loved the outdoors, skiing, dogs, and the Park City community she called home.
An overachiever with an indomitable spirit, a zest for life and a great sense of humor, Barbara touched many lives. She is survived by her husband Wayne, their children Eric and Joey, grandchildren Owen and Chloe, and her siblings Bruce and Linda.
