Ron Brown, born B Ronald Brown on October 16, 1932, in Springville, Utah, died on October 25, 2026, in Heber City, Utah.
He will be remembered with love by his wife, Jean, his sweetheart of 74 years. Together, Ron and Jean built a family of six children and shared a long life marked by devotion and enduring partnership.
Ron grew up in Springville. After graduating from Springville High School, studied animal husbandry to support a many-year career raising beaver in Oregon in a business with his brother-in-law Van Weaver.
He built cement beaver pens as part of a family farm in Salem where the family learned to work together on the farm. Ron led his family to share their faith in Christ by teaching gospel principles at the Chemawa Indian school and feeding and otherwise taking care of full-time missionaries.
Building cement beaver pens was small potatoes for Ron’s building skills. He built from the ground up several large homes including the plumbing, electrical, wood work, and finished carpentry work. He kept working and building into his 90’s working on a farm in Heber that included building small village structures like a bakery for grandchildren.
His love and skill for growing things includes a peach tree from a pit that has grown huge 20 years on. His love for such things was so powerful that the owner of the farm, Marsden Blanch, let him grow about 50 black walnut trees from unshelled black walnuts.
An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Ron worked in the Provo Temple and other church callings.
Ron is survived by his children: daughter Laurie (Ken), Bart (Sunnie), James (Cathy), Kenneth, Kerry (Marti), Anna Lee (Randy); and a large posterity of grand, great, and great-great grandchildren. His family was a central part of his life, and those who knew him will remember the lasting bond he shared with them.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bird Brown; his mother, Mabel Brown; and his only sibling, Lois Weaver.
A viewing will be held on Monday, November 2, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 521 E 500 N, Heber City, Utah 84032. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the same location. Interment will take place at 2:15 p.m. at Springville Evergreen Cemetery, 1997 South 400 East Street, Springville, Utah 84663.
Ron Brown’s life will be honored by the family he loved and by all who gather to remember him. His memory will remain a cherished part of the lives of those closest to him.
