Audrey Mary Hicken Probst

February 19, 1929 — July 28, 2018

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, Audrey Mary Hicken Probst passed away peacefully, July 28, 2018 in her home surrounded by family.

Born February 19, 1929 to Irwin Todd and Ruby Price Hicken in Heber City, Utah.

Audrey graduated from Wasatch High School in 1947. She attended Utah State University and Brigham Young University graduating with a Bachelors in Elementary Education from BYU in 1951. She taught Kindergarten in Portland, Oregon and 2nd Grade in Lehi, Utah before marrying the love of her life Wayne W. Probst of Midway in the Salt Lake Temple in 1953 by Elder Matthew Cowley.

A very faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Audrey served in many callings including Stake and Ward Relief Society Presidencies, Young Women and Primary. She served with Wayne as the Mission President over the Pocatello Idaho Mission from 1991-94. Audrey served as an ordinance worker in the Provo Temple for 13 years. She with Wayne were the Honored Citizens for Midway and Grand Marshall for the Wasatch County Fair. Her grandchildren believe she was the best Swiss Bratzeli maker this side of the Provo River.

Mother of five sons who each have a sister; Joe (Marsha) Probst, Midway, UT; Kimball (Susan) Probst, Wellsville, UT; John (Jayne) Probst, Truro, IA; Mark Probst, Midway, UT; Ben (Nannette) Probst, Midway, UT; and Annette (Dan) Swainston, Bakersfield, CA

Grandmother to 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much and would never forget to call and send a card to them on their birthdays.

Sister to Glen (Carolee) Hicken, Wayne (Charlene) Hicken, John Robert (Alice) Hicken, Calvin (Joan, deceased) Probst.

Audrey is preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter, Sadie.

She loved her flower garden, playing the piano and reading a good book. Her friendships and love to numerous nieces and nephews reach over many miles. Her love and kindness to others cannot be surpassed. She will be dearly missed.

A viewing will be held Monday, August 6, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the Fort Midway LDS Chapel (1102 S. Center St., Midway). Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 7th at 11:00 A.M. with a viewing from 9:30-10:30 A.M. at the same location. Interment will be in the Midway City Cemetery.
