Archie McCormack, 96, passed away peacefully at home on February 21, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was born in the coal mining town of Bo’ness Scotland on January 31, 1922 to Robert McCormack and Elizabeth Robertson McNeill. He was the youngest of six children.
He married Elizabeth Donaldson Paterson on June 20, 1944 in Edinburgh Scotland. They were later sealed in the London England Temple on March 10, 1962. He enlisted at age 17 to serve in the British Royal Navy. He proudly and heroically served during WWII. He was a hard worker, even when jobs were scarce he always found work to provide for his family and further his career. He was an active member of the LDS Church and held numerous positions including a counselor in the Stake Presidency in Manchester England and was a Temple worker in Utah. He had a great sense of humor, a vast knowledge of world geography and in later years loved to golf. He was a generous man to young couples starting off in life, missionaries and church organizations. He was the ultimate example of what a husband and father should be.
Archie is survived by his cherished wife Elizabeth, their children Keith (Betty); Kenneth; Ray (Diana); Craig; Lindsay (Josh) Scott. 12 grandchildren, Lisa; Neil; Sharon; Louise; Ian; Stewart; Mark; Brett; Kevin; Jillyn; Jordan; Jace and 9 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents and siblings, daughter Sandra and son Ross “Shane”.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, March 5, 2018 at 12:00 noon Mt. Jordan 7th Ward, 235 East Sego Lily (9800 S) Sandy. Friends and family may visit Monday prior to the service at the church from 11:00 -11:45 am. Interment, Crescent Cemetery Sandy Utah.
