She was born to Odetta Alder and Wade Cummings and married Clifford Larry Frisby on June 8, 1949. They had seven children together: Clifford Pat Frisby (Deceased), Brad Frisby, married to Sandra, Diane Davis (Deceased), Brenda Lex, Lana Przybocki, married to Stephen, J. Lee Frisby, and Alan Frisby, married to Christy.
