Amy Hubbard Nelson

October 16, 1974 — June 7, 2021

Amy Hubbard Nelson, age 46, of Heber City, Utah, passed away June 7, 2021 as the result of a tragic vehicle accident.

Amy was born October 16th, 1974 in Pocatello, ID to Allan and Nancy Hubbard. She was the second of seven children. After graduating from Pocatello High School in 1993, Amy moved to Quincy, Washington where she met the love of her life, James Nelson. Amy opened her hair salon in Quincy where she worked as a cosmetologist, doing what she did best: making others look and feel beautiful.

Together, Amy and James brought into this world their sweetheart Morgan Nelson.

Amy loved nothing more in this world than being a mother. And in return, Morgan loved nothing more than her Mom. Amy’s pride and joy was her little girl.

James began a new career as a lineman which relocated their family to Heber City, Utah. Amy had the ability of making lifelong friends no matter where life took her. She loved being on family outings and playing with her nieces and nephews. Amy found joy being in the outdoors. Most of her time was spent skiing, hiking, and working in her flower beds and yard. She loved spending time in the sunshine and truly enjoyed creating a beautiful and welcoming home. She had a special way of making everyone she was around feel important. She was such a bright light with a special spirit. Amy was naturally empathetic and loving towards others. Amy was proud and loved to tell everyone about her experience in donating her kidney to her younger brother. She was an amazing and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.

Amy is survived by her husband, James Nelson and daughter Morgan Nelson of Heber City, UT; parents Allan and Nancy Hubbard of Pocatello, ID; siblings Heidi (Jason) Bohrer of Bismarck, ND; Andrew (Angie) Hubbard of Heber City, UT; Jami (Jaime) Hubbard of Pocatello, ID; Emily (Karl) Studer of Rupert, ID; Clayton (Charish) Hubbard of Naples, FL; and Melanie (Nathan) Maravilla of Pocatello, ID; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn’t go alone. For part of us went with you, the day God called you home. Until we meet again.

Amy is proceeded in death by her grandparents, Margaret and Carl Gaver and Jess and Lawana Hubbard.
