Our much loved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away on April 19, 2016 at his daughter’s home.
Born on December 3, 1929 in Salt Lake City, Utah the only son of Aaron Campbell Taylor and Gertrude Blonquist Taylor. Al grew up in Salt Lake City, spending most of his summers in Coalville with family. His parent’s careers with Ford Motor Company and Hanford Nuclear Plant took the family to Washington State where Al graduated high school in Richland, Washington
Al married Dorane Carpenter on July 21 1969. Al had a successful career in the car sales industry. He was employed with Menlove Dodge Toyota in Bountiful and Pioneer Dodge in Salt Lake City. His reputation for being honest and thorough made him the go to guy for any vehicle. After retirement, he found enjoyment working for Crandall Ford Mercury doing various tasks and making friendships along the way. Al was meticulous in everything he did and it had to be perfect. From his vehicles being spotless, his yard and home immaculate and his clothes being neatly pressed and clean. Al was also known for being a jokester with many of his family and friends being the recipients of such humor.
Al is preceded in death by his parents, many aunts and uncles, daughters Liz Taylor and Christy Manolopoulos. Survived by wife Dorane Taylor, daughters, Elsie (Blaine) Ercanbrack, Coalville, Lori (Dave) Taylor, and Sheri (Dave) Ross, Salt Lake City, Utah. Al also leaves behind 16 beloved grandchildren who brought him much joy and happiness. Clint (Cherish) Wallsburg; Braeden (Marissa), Jordan (Sean), Jennifer (Justin), Dylan, Aleigh, Harleigh, all of Coalville; Zorba, Rachael, Sophia, Thera, Stefany, Vanessa, and Elyse, all of Washington. Also survived by 25 great-grandchildren.
A special thanks to Symbii Home Care and Hospice who gave tender care to Al in his final days, especially Kathy Stephens and Allyson Miller. A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 25 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Coalville City Cemetery with internment to follow. There will be a viewing prior to the graveside at the Coalville LDS Stake Center for family and close friends from 10:00 AM – 10:30AM.
