Our beloved “Fancy” Afton passed away peacefully on January 4, 2018 returning home to soar with the angles. She was born on the 19th of December 1927 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Albert Edward & Jasmine Young Hibberd. Youngest of 4 children, Afton had a twin brother and 2 older sisters. She was a devoted friend and wife to Marvin Todd. She had 3 amazing daughters, 16 Grandchildren, 24 Great Grandchildren and 6 Great-Great Grandchildren. Things may have not always been easy for Afton but she was determined, her perseverance helped her overcome Polio at age 14 carrying on to live a very fulfilled 90 years. She was witty and loved to tease with anyone all along having that recognizable smirk on her face. She loved the finer things but always able to stay grounded. She was crafty and knew how to add bling & sparkle to anything earning her the title “Fancy Grandma”. She loved shopping and clothes, she could rock animal print in any color at any age knowing just how to accessorize to look breathtaking. As much as she loved sparkle she loved her family. Family gathering, long chats & celebrating with you your accomplishments is something she lived for. She encourage everyone to love one another and always said “If you cant say anything nice don’t say it at all.” We all believe that she could possible have been the original author of this quote because she said it so much. All that knew her loved this impressive lady. We are all broken hearted to see her taken from us but celebrate the remarkable life she lived and the new journey that is before her. This beautiful woman will be remembered and missed by everyone.
