Kenneth Olsen Kohler

September 10, 1929 - March 13, 2022

Kenneth Olsen Kohler, born Sept. 10, 1929 to Reed Carl and Elda Olsen Kohler returned home to his Father in Heaven on March 13, 2022 at age 92. Ken was born and raised in Midway, graduated from Wasatch High School in 1948. He served a Mission to the North Central States 1949-1951. Attended BYU prior to his Mission and helped establish radio station KBYU. Later received his degree from BYU in Archaeology. He worked for the State of Utah at Fremont Indian State Park in Clear Creek Canyon. He set up the Museum at the Park and was the Curator. At this time he wrote a book about the Fremont Indians titled, "Other Truths Not Guessed." He had a great love for the Fremont and all other Indian Tribes. Later he went to "This is the Place Heritage Park" as an archaeologist. Ken was always active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints serving in the Bishopric and always loving being a teacher. Ken and his wife Joan served a Senior Mission to Lithuania and then to Temple Square. Finally serving as Addiction Recovery Missionaries in Wasatch County. Ken is the father of nine children and 3 step children. Karen (Joe) Neal, Doug Kohler, Sue (Cory) Greenwell, Chris (Bill)Schoeck, David (Amy) Kohler, Patti (Matt) Morris, Sam (Crystal) Angona, Victor Angona, Sara (Sean) Covey, Johnny Angona (deceased), Spence (Julie) Kohler, Jeff (Shel) Kohler. He has 32 grandchildren (still growing), and 29 great grand children. He and his wife Joan have been married nearly 44 years. His siblings are Ramon (Sally) Kohler, Marden (Joy) Kohler deceased, and Dawnette (Dave) Adamson deceased. Funeral Services will be on Saturday March 19, 2022 at 12:00 noon at the Legacy Chapel in Midway, 250 East 200 South. A viewing will be at 10:00 am prior to funeral.
