Harold DeLynn Stoddard, 88, of Midway Utah, formerly of Rexburg Idaho, passed away peacefully at home on July 2, 2015. Harold was born in Egin, ID on Sept. 4, 1926 to Lucille Ingram and Leslie Marion Stoddard. He was the 7th of 10 children. Harold graduated from South Fremont High School. Immediately following graduation he enlisted in the US Marine Core and served for 2 years as a tank mechanic in Tiensen, China, preparing for WWII advancements in Asia. Harold married Norma Goulding on November 5, 1947 in the Idaho Falls Temple, and together they had six children. They spent their early years farming and trucking. In 1951 he went to work driving bus for the AEC (INEEL) site. In 1956, they moved to Rexburg to initiate the first bus route from Rexburg to the site. Harold received many honors and awards as an outstanding driver. He drove for the site for 35 years and upon retiring spent another ten years driving charter bus around the region. Harold was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving as Bishop, Ricks College High Councilman, Scout Leader, Stake Missionary and Idaho Falls Temple Officiator for 11 ½ years. Harold was a loving spouse, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a charter member of the Rexburg chapter of the Sons of the Utah Pioneers, and a board member of the Madison County Senior Center. He enjoyed traveling with family and friends. He enjoyed horses, fishing, camping and boating, but most of all enjoyed family gatherings and playing with his grandkids. Harold and Norma had 27 grandkids and 43 great grandkids. Harold is survived by wife Norma, children Ron (Vanell) Stoddard, Goulding (Christina) Stoddard, Sheryl (Jerry) Beck, Paulette (David) Wetzel, Steve (Jan) Stoddard, Sterling (LaDawn) Stoddard, brother Lou Stoddard, and sister Phyllis Bradshaw. He was preceded in death by his parents, baby son, granddaughter Jessica Stoddard; sisters, Vida Crapo, Beatrice Stone, Marie Hathaway and Vae Mace; sister-in-laws, Wanda Stoddard and Donna Stoddard; brothers, Marion Stoddard, Maurice Stoddard and Frank Stoddard; brother-in-laws, Maurice Crapo, Jack Stone, Bud Hathaway and Ervin Mace. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, July 11, at the Rexburg North Stake Center, 314 East 2nd North. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home, 61 North 1st East, in Rexburg and Saturday from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. at the stake center prior to services. Burial will be in the Parker Cemetery.
