April 24, 1973 - February 11, 2022
On February 11, 2022, after a couple days spent with close friends and family, and in the comfort of his home in Francis, Utah, Brandon lost his long and valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. Like the beginning of so many, he moved to his next great adventure while holding the hand of his loving wife, Lisa. Brandon was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, son of Connie Mair Welch and D. Leon Welch. Brandon grew up in Sandy, Utah where he attended school from elementary through his high school graduation from Alta High School, class of 1991. In 1998, Brandon met the love of his life, Lisa. They married in 2000 and enjoyed a life of laughter, fun, and adventure. As the very best of friends and true soul mates, they were fortunate to share an amazing devotion to one another. Brandon was privileged to have spent his entire adult career at Standard Drywall, Inc. (SDI) under the direction of Bob Caya (deceased) whom he respected and admired. Through the course of his career, he developed many close personal friendships with those he worked with. Brandon had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed hearing a good joke and was always ready to share one of his own. He could relive a good story as if it happened yesterday and all his stories held a special twist that only Brandon could add. Brandon’s father, Leon, introduced him to the great outdoors at an early age and his passion for it grew from there. Brandon considered the outdoors his playground. Whether he was on an ATV, UTV, or snowmobile, hunting, fishing, camping, boating, trap shooting, golfing, grilling, or just sitting around a campfire, he was in his happy place. Preceded in death by his stepson Dyllin Bennion (10/2020), father-in-law, Ben Forbes (1/2010), paternal and maternal grandparents, and his beloved dogs, Tex, Max, and Tred. Brandon is survived by his wife, Lisa, his parents Leon and Connie, his sister Whitnie (Eric) White, his nephew and niece, Payton and Camryn White, his mother-in-law Teri Forbes, and his beloved dogs Lilly, Jane, and Cooper. A memorial service will be held to celebrate the life of this wonderful man at Probst Family Heber Valley Funeral home, 288 N. Main Street in Heber, Utah on Thursday, February 24th. From 3:pm – 3:30 pm there will time to visit and sign in with services starting at 3:30 pm. Dress is casual, so please come as you are. Bring a fun story to tell if you’ve got one. We can spend a lifetime missing Brandon, but the purpose of this gathering is remembering him. In lieu of flowers and in honor of Brandon, please consider contributing to the Huntsman Cancer Institute or a charitable organization of your choice.
