Age 79, died peacefully at his home in Tabiona on November 15, 2020. Ronnie was born on Sept 30, 1941 in Heber City, Utah to John and Phyllis Giles. He lived in Tabiona until he was 7 years old. When his parents passed away he moved to Heber City to live with his “Aunt Chick”. He was always a hard worker and loved animals. He was a high school state champion wrestler and held the title for many years.
He married the love of his life Afton Giles on January 24, 1959. They spent over 61 years together raising a wonderful family of 7 children, Ronda (Clint) Crook, Jewel Gurule, Lee Giles, Amy Bagley, Becky Giles, Timmy (Brandy) Giles, Stacy Giles, 40 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter.
Most of his life he worked as a supervisor in the tunnels and mines he was admired and respected by all who worked for him in the industry. He never had a bad word to say about anyone. He loved the Tabiona Valley and served as the mayor for 8 years. Spending time in the mountains cutting timber, hunting with his family, old western movies, and a day on the farm is where he found his joy. More than anything he loved his family.
He is survived by his loving wife and family, brother DeVar (Cheese) Giles, and sister Joyce Coleman.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Steve Giles.
