“The Life of Lary”
Lary S. Winterton loving father, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend succumbed due to heart and respiratory complications following bypasss surgery on December 9, 2016. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Lary was born on March 6, 1937 in Charleston, Utah to Stafford and Maude Winterton. He was very influential in the community he loved. He was heavily involved with the FFA, the establishment of the first Rodeo Grounds and many other community projects. He was a farmer, miner, FBO of the Heber Valley Airport, where he started the glider program. He owned and operated his Bell 47 helicopter and established his business DALTEC. Very few people knew Lary’s nickname was “Cappy.” He was a school bus driver, head custodian at Wasatch Middle School where he retired. He continued to work on his farm on his many projects and inventions that he was well known for. He was always willing to help anyone, anywhere, anytime. He performed many acts of kindness to his friends and
strangers.
Lary is survived by his soulmate of 40 years Dottie, son; Jeff (Joan), daughter; Susan, 3 grand children and 4 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, sister, brother-in-law and son Mike.
Thank you everyone for your love and friendship for Lary, it meant so much to him. We would like to give a special thanks to his doctor and nurses that cared for Lary at the UVRMC and for their genuine love and compassion.
“The Life of Lary” will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at the Charleston Town Hall (3454 W 3400 S, Charleston, Utah) with a viewing from 10-11:30 A.M. followed by a service from 11:30 A.M.- 12:30 P.M. and the interment at 1:00 P.M. at the Charleston Cemetery.
