Guy Lamar Duke

October 7, 1960 — July 1, 2015

Guy LaMar Duke passed away at the age of 54 on July 1, 2015, at the Park City Utah Hospital after a very difficult battle with cancer. He was born October 7, 1960 to Louise McDonald Duke and Robert Dean Duke in Heber City, Utah. Guy married Becky Heil on September 4, 1984 in Heber City.

As a child, Guy enjoyed the simple life of growing up in the beautiful Heber Valley where he spent endless hours playing with neighborhood friends and cousins whom he has always held in high regard. He treasured the times he spent with his father, son, uncles, cousins, and friends as they fished and hunted together. He was most content and happy when he was outdoors.

By profession Guy was a commercial painter working on the IPP plant in Delta and a large project in Michigan. After recovering from a very severe industrial accident he went to work for UTA. He received several recognitions for his hard work and dedication in maintaining the UTA buildings.

Guy is survived by his loving wife Becky, son Scott, daughter Kelsey, and granddaughter, Gracie, who has been the highlight of his life these last few years. Also surviving are his dedicated mother Louise Murdock, sisters Karen (Kent) Smith, Susan (Gary) Buehner, and Gladys (Lynn) Stevens. Guy was preceded in death by his infant twin daughters, his father and stepfather Barney Murdock.

The family would like to especially thank Guy’s hospice nurse, Jennifer, from IHC for her amazing kindness and understanding in helping Guy and his family through a very challenging time and also his son Scott who has attended to his father’s every need with great patience and love.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 6, 12:00 PM , at the LDS Heber 9th ward building located at 325 East and 500 North, Heber City.
